On February 18, a demonstration calling for the exclusion of the Russian Federation from the UN Security Council took place at Munich’s main square during the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Summit and the Munich Security Conference. Leading German politicians, members of the Bundestag, and a delegation of the UCBSS took part in the event.
“Today in Germany, and previously in other European countries, I see constant confirmation that Ukraine has united the world around itself. But the most important thing has not yet been done — the world has not abandoned the hope that it is possible to negotiate with Russia and that the Russian Federation can still be seated at the same table with democratic states in an international institution responsible for peace on the planet,” said UCBSS Head Serhii Kuzan during the demonstration.
Nine years ago, Russian weapons first appeared on Ukrainian territory during the Euromaidan in an attempt to intimidate us. Today marks 361 days since Russia, without changing its terrorist tactics, has continued to terrorize us — now with missiles: bombing homes, killing people, and wiping entire cities off the face of the earth.
Every Ukrainian — at the front and across the world — is now a fighter in our greatest national liberation struggle. And just as the Defense Forces are grinding down the enemy near Bakhmut and Vuhledar, our daily task is to dismantle Russian influence in every country of the world.
In his address, Serhii Kuzan appealed to everyone who supports Ukraine: a terrorist state must not influence decisions concerning global peace. The Russian Federation has no place on the UN Security Council.
