“The Ukrainian Centre for Security and Cooperation” and the SBU Academy Agree on Cooperation

The relevant memorandum was signed by the Head of the Ukrainian Centre for Security and Cooperation, Serhii Kuzan, and the Rector of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Andrii Cherniak.

The document provides for the organization and implementation of joint research, the preparation of academic publications, educational projects, as well as the development of training programs in the field of countering Russian hybrid influence.

The Head of the USCC shared with representatives of the Academy the main areas of the Centre’s work and its achievements.

“Our priority tasks in 2024 are, in close cooperation with our partners abroad and in Ukraine, to weaken Russia’s influence in the world — its politicians, businesses, media, and cultural centers,” noted Serhii Kuzan.

Rector of the Academy Andrii Cherniak emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Academy’s staff has been actively working on the development of public-private and international partnerships to combine efforts in strengthening Ukraine’s resilience to security threats. Andrii Cherniak also spoke about projects involving Academy staff and cadets aimed at assisting operational units of the SBU and other units of the defense sector.

“In these difficult times, we more than ever need to be united, flexible, and fast. Only in this way will we achieve our common goal — Ukraine’s victory!” Cherniak emphasized.

He also presented to the USCC a number of unique scientific and practical publications prepared by representatives of the Academy jointly with Ukrainian experts, with the support of foreign institutions, in particular on issues of information security, analytical intelligence, and strategic communications.
