Ukrainian security and cooperation centre (USCC) is an independent analytics centre that specialises on national security aspects. Our mission is to support Ukrainian defence capability through analytics, strategic communications and partner projects that support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

We are looking for an Analyst to prepare fact sheets, reports, and analytical materials on military and political topics, someone who shares our values and is committed to contributing to the strengthening of the state.

Requirements:

  • Share the team’s values: support for Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty, and strengthening the state through professional activities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, security studies, journalism, military affairs, or related fields.
  • Completion of military training and/or holding an officer rank is a plus.
  • Experience preparing briefings, analytical notes, or informational materials.
  • Experience in analytical work, journalism, research, or related fields for at least one year will be a significant advantage.
  • A deep understanding of the context of the war in Ukraine and its geopolitical implications.
  • OSINT skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of the basics of military affairs, types of weaponry, the structure of the armed forces, and principles of military strategy is a plus.
  • Understanding of international politics, the activities of NATO, the EU, and the UN, as well as international security mechanisms.
  • Excellent information management skills: searching, verifying, analyzing, and organizing.
  • Proficiency in fact-checking methods and critical analysis of information.
  • Experience with analytical tools and databases (YouScan, SemanticForce, LOOQME, Google Trends, or similar) is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring Ukrainian and international media, official sources, social media, Telegram channels, and analytical platforms to track current events in the fields of defense, security, and international relations.
  • Working with open-source databases, government reports, documents from international organizations (UN, NATO, EU), and analytical publications from think tanks.
  • Searching for and verifying data on military operations, weaponry, defense budgets, and international military aid.
  • Analyzing large volumes of data, identifying key trends, patterns, and significant changes in the military-political situation.
  • Critical assessment of source reliability, fact-checking, and identification of disinformation and manipulation.
  • Determining the relevance of information for specific expert commentary and media formats.
  • Preparation of daily and situational briefings.
  • Preparing fact sheets, event timelines, comparative tables, and infographics.
  • Preparing talking points, key messages, and arguments.
