Another attempt by U.S. President Joe Biden during a meeting with congressional leaders on February 27 to reach a compromise on unblocking aid to Ukraine proved unsuccessful, and this delay in providing financial support is already having a noticeable impact on the course of the war.

Undoubtedly, Ukraine will continue its fight on the battlefield against Russia under any circumstances. However, the cost of such a struggle will increase many times over in the absence of U.S. assistance.

This was emphasized by the head of the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Center, Serhii Kuzan, commenting on the current situation in the war for the Belgian publication L’Echo.

“For five months we have not received military assistance, and this affects our morale,” noted S. Kuzan.

At the same time, in his view, the war cannot be prolonged indefinitely, because Russia has already used up one third of its Soviet-era stockpiles and is expected to exhaust its own military capacities by 2026, while its industry is already operating at maximum capacity.

No matter how hard Russia tries to turn Ukraine into Chechnya or Syria in terms of the scale of destruction, the aggressor will not have enough strength to conquer it, and Ukrainians will offer desperate resistance to such attempts, the head of the USCC is convinced.

At the same time, he considers the fight against Russian business and its agents of influence abroad to be critically important in the war with Russia, and believes it should become a responsibility for all countries. In particular, Belgium is already feeling Moscow’s influence today, where the Russian NLMK Group, owned by Vladimir Lisin, an oligarch close to Putin, is exerting pressure on the government in order to avoid sanctions, which is supported by documentary evidence.
